Samsung Electronics to Capture Touch Phone Market via ‘Haptic’ Phone
Samsung Electronics announced on March 13 that the company has decided to name its premium touch-screen mobile phone model, Anycall “Haptic” phone (SCH-W420/SPH-W4200) and embark on full-fledged marketing effort.
Samsung Electronics explained that in a scientific dimension, the word ‘haptic’ -- which relates to the sense of touch -- relates to user interface via haptic response between the human and the machine.
The company said that an innovative user interface (UI) contributed by various haptic functions was applied in the Anycall Haptic phone and added that the key phone model for the first half of this year is a premium touch-screen phone which outreaches the limits of preexisting touch screen phones.
Users of this phone can experience 20 or more different modes of vibration functions via operation of key functions or touch of the screen. Also, receivers may feel different types of vibration depending on the sender’s biorhythm.
The phone’s digilog features, where digital and analog features are combined, is another interesting quality of the model: When listening to music the listener can adjust the volume as if he or she is turning the volume dial knob and images saved in the phone can be viewed like pictures in photo albums.
